MSc research interests: 

Louise’s Master’s dissertation focused on children with acquired brain injuries as they progress through adolescence and into adulthood. The study relates to the impact of family function on this group in relation to psychosocial outcomes. Underpinned by the biopsychosocial mode of rehabilitation and the International Classification Of functioning and Disease (ICF) Louise has completed additional Master’s modules on the following topics: • Hypoxic/hypoglycaemic birth injury • Childhood ABI – impact on emotional regulation, social information processing and peer relationships • Family function after childhood ABI – how family function impacts overall outcomes for children who experience an ABI after a period of normal development • Prolonged disorders of consciousness – coma, vegetative state, minimally conscious state (and variants within the ranges) • Mild TBI and post concussion syndrome.

PhD research interests:

Louise commenced her PhD in October 2022 – her PhD project is focused on children and adolescents with acquired brain injury.
